My sister and I saw South Pacific at the matinee on Nov. 12. 2008. Neither of us will ever recover from the discovery of Paulo Szot. His amazing and generous acting, his visage, his build, his stage presence, and, of course, his very great voice and ability to use it both outwardly and inwardly. His talent is rare and a gift to us all. The other thing I noticed was that he, who has done so many performances so far, gave no indication of weariness or boredom, to the contrary it seemed he inhabited this man and he was living this man for the first time.

My sister and I can only imagine the amount of dedication over many many years that had fruition in this singular performance. Our very great salute to this monumentally talented man. A salute as well to the cast, set designer, et al for
reminding of what great musical theatre is!!!
